More letters from Comcast: Celestial Inc. issues new subpoenas nationwide

We thought that, after the recent mass-quashings and dismissals throughout the District Courts in Florida, we would no longer be seeing subpoenas from copyright trolls.  However, just recently, on March 18, 2013, Judge Smoak granted an order allowing Celestial Inc. leave to issue subpoenas to Internet Service Providers against Doe Nos. 173-377 in Case No. 5:12-cv-375-RS-CJK (Panama City division).  Subscribers should be getting their letters from Comcast right about now.

What we've learned from prior Celestial Inc. cases is that the lists of ISPs are not narrowed to only Florida residents, and that therefore probably more than half will have personal jurisdiction issues.  (Again we wonder, they're still doing this??)

Other cases filed by Celestial in the Northern District of Florida include:

1:2012-cv-00264

3:2012-cv-00554

4:2012-cv-00605

If you've received a letter from your Internet Service Provider about one of these cases, or any other BitTorrent case in one of the courts in Florida, feel free to call our office at 407-965-5519.
